MastereignChampions

Mastereign Champions believes that every youth-at-risk must be given opportunities to grow to take charge of their lives and have their potential optimised. Even as youth development occurs in these youths, some critical developmental tasks can be influenced and enhanced through positive intervention. These developmental tasks include physical health and wellness, decision making, leadership skill development, mentoring relationships and self-determination.

With this backdrop, Mastereign Champions has designed a holistic programme structure with a variety of youth-focused activities. Sports, drama, dance, and music are creatively infused into each highly-customised programme so as to capture the interest of these youths.

Our Champion coaches are passionate about reaching out to youths-at-risk as many of whom have “been there” and “done that”. Like a good leader, teacher, and mentor, our coaches endeavour to inspire the youth to envision a good future for themselves. They also teach the youth positive social skills and responsible behavior. Our coaches also cheer the youth on as they navigate through challenges on a personal or social front.

Our Stories

Mastereign Champions in Thailand

Champions-StoryMay 20th 2013 – Clinical and pre-clinical medical students from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS) arrived at Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi Airport. They would soon rendezvous with three Singapore doctors and volunteers from Mastereign Champions for a 10-day long medical mission that would see them helping over two hundred poor and needy people from more than five provinces and over ten villages. In addition, they also educated villagers and village health volunteers about basic healthcare and illnesses, and gave out health brochures and toothbrush sets to over three hundred adults and children.

Impacting a community is a complex and long-drawn process. Providing medical care is just one aspect that Singaporean students can support. There are other numerous alternatives which we can and should explore as we prepare for our eventual union as ASEAN Community in 2015. Schools all over Thailand are looking for volunteers to run English camps, leadership camps, help in painting wall murals, do simple construction, and the like. Forming partnerships that cross cultural, language, and political boundaries will definitely impact ASEAN and build a stronger tomorrow for all of us.

Mastereign Champions coordinates projects like this with National University of Singapore (NUS) and other organisations, schools, and societies from Singapore to the United Kingdom.

A Social Enterprise

Mastereign Champions is a social enterprise whose ultimate objective is to guide youths and to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and attitude so that they are well-equipped in pursuing their life journey. It is through this avenue that funds are raised and channelled back to help the various communities in Singapore and ASEAN.
