MTVS001 Hip Hop Groove
Evolved out of street and break dancing moves. A funky dance class taught to the latest funk, rap and R & B music. It is characterized by its vigorous athletics and bouncy style. This is a dance programme that include basic movement control technique to the latest popular music with a variety of rhythms It emphasizes the coordination of arm patterns, body movements with simple dance steps.
MTVS002 Street Rhythms & Jam
Students will be taught the basics of various dance discipline such as Jazz and Hip Hop. Students will also be taught key performance skills such as lines, projection, energy, stage usage and awareness and audience awareness. Students will then be challenged to combine and apply what they have learnt in both disciplines in a dance performance.
MTVS003 Jpop Groove
A programme where students will learn how to dance hip hop to the latest J-pop music. Students will learn both the old school street funk and new school hip hop styles and incorporate it into J-pop songs.
MTVS004 Kpop Groove
A new school street style dance that is becoming increasingly popular, K-pop Groove combines hip hop moves with K-pop music. Students will learn how to dance the latest funky hip hop moves as well as funk dance styles e.g.. popping to the latest K-pop music.
MTVS005 Popping & Locking
A combination of 2 funk style dances into a brand new course, students will learn about muscle control and balance as well as mime style movements and facial expressions. A fun and funky style that will encourage creativity and expression.
MTVS006 Lyrical Hip Hop
Lyrical hip-hop is a more fluid and interpretive version of hip-hop most often danced to slower rap music or R&B music. It focuses more on choreography and performance. Students will learn that the dance movements have to tell a story to the lyrics of a song.
MTVS007 Lyrical Jazz
Lyrical Jazz is a blend of ballet and jazz styles that creates a self expression performed to popular contemporary music. It is a slower style that focuses on more on technique as well as emotional expression and often reflects the lyrics of the song being danced to. In lyrical dance the soft and flowing movements are often used to demonstrate the portrayal of a character. Students will be able to gain fluidity of movement, grace, control and an avenue for individual expression.
